One of the best things about Halloween is the fun treats! I saw this super easy and festive treat on a friends blog a while ago. (Sad, I can't even remember who's blog I saw it on! Mom brain...) All you need is a package of nutter butters, white chocolate almond bark and some black frosting. (I used melted chocolate chips in a ziplock baggie.) I melted 6 squares of the white chocolate and got about a bag and a half of nutter butters dipped :) Mind you, I am definitely NOT Martha Stewart. No judging.

Halloween Door Wreath {Daily Diaries}

Who is excited for Halloween? I definitely am. It's one of my favorite holidays and I can't wait to pull out all of my decorations. So guess what, I didn't, I started today and I decided to share it with all of you guys in honor of the upcoming month of October. Today is going to be the first of a whole month of Halloween themed posts, so get you Halloween pants on, because its coming! Alrighty, so today I'm going to show you how to make the EASIEST Halloween wreath ever! And its pretty inexpensive too, so BONUS!
UNDONE: Easy DIY Halloween Wreath

Ok, so these are the only things you need. No, glue gun, no needle and thread, no blow torch -wait, what? Ok, but really, this is easy. I got all of this at Michael's last year and I'm sure they have it all now too.
UNDONE: Easy DIY Halloween Wreath
Twig wreath thingy - $3.99
Black roses - $0.60 each (these were on clearance when I got them)
Sparkly owl - $1.99

So STEP ONE: Put the black flowers into the wreath. Just find a spot you like and push the stems in, then adjust them to look the way you want. It's pretty straight forward, but here's a pic if you think you want one.
UNDONE: Easy DIY Halloween Wreath

STEP TWO: You can either cut the flowers down or tuck in the ends like I did.

UNDONE: Easy DIY Halloween Wreath
STEP THREE: Attach the little owl. Mine had a clip on his back and little twist ties on his feet, so no glue needed. Wow, hang it up and be done!

So this is what I have hanging on my door for Halloween. I've been thinking about adding a little plaque or some kind of wording to it, but I love the simplicity of it now. What is going on your door this Halloween? Is it going to be scary or cutesy?

Dirty Clothes {Frequent Frustrations}

Let me first start out by saying I LOVE my husband more than I can even put into words. Really he is so great and I just don't know what I did to deserve such a great guy. That being said, he is a bit of a man child, which is nice in the way that he is constantly making me laugh and we have so much fun, but frustrating in the way that I am constantly picking up after him. I always joke that I have three children (hubby included) instead of two but sometimes it really does drive me crazy.

Take for instance this morning every morning, Ty gets up before me, leaves for school or work depending on the day, and then I wake up and see this site.....every morning. Yes those would be his PJs, he gets dressed and ready and leaves this for me. Oh! and the hamper is about two feet from where this is on the floor. "Aw honey that is so sweet of you to leave your dirty laundry on the floor for me to pick up so I am reminded of you throughout the day....awwww thank you" (sense sarcasm much). Although he does put his dirty clothes away at night when he puts on his PJs, just not in the morning. ***Shrugs shoulders. I do not get it.

Some of you might say "Just leave them there and have him pick them up later." Well the problem is It drives me CRAZY to see it there on the floor I HAVE to pick it up I just have to. So maybe it is partially my fault and that is why it is sooooo FRUSTRATING.

Can some of you relate to this? Picking up dirty laundry of husbands and children? My little guys are too little to pick up their own laundry now but I'm sure I'll be having this frustration with them later as well.

Once a fatty....{Daily Diaries}

Ok, Ladies. Now that you have gotten to know the blog, and what we are all about, it's time we share with you how we came to be the women we are today.  I want to share with you my story, a part of my life that is a HUGE piece of me, and maybe some of you can relate, and others can just cheer me on.

As a kid I was on all kinds of ADHD medications, that as a side affect gave me a suppressed appetite. I was extremely skinny until I got off the meds, which happened to be my 9th grade year. I went from having a suppressed appetite and never having to worry about what I ate, to having an endless appetite and packing on the pounds. By the time I reached high school I was overweight. I was a sophomore and a size 14(I am also 5ft 10in so it balanced a little). I hated it. I hated my body, I felt very insecure. I joined the swim team to try and stay active, but I was self conscience about being in my swim suit around boys because I already had stretch marks on my inner thighs, so I rarely went to class. I never got asked out, only went to 1 high school dance and it was a girls choice.

Fast forward to summer after high school graduation. I was still the same size, but something about being out of high school just sparked a new life into me. I owned my body. I felt sexy, sassy, and like I could get any guy I wanted, and I did. I dated like MAD. I had a few steady boyfriends here and there, but for the most part I was living the life of a young single adult, NCMO's(non committal make out) all over the place. But somewhere, the weight still bothered me.

Fast forward to 2008. I met Jason. The hubs. We got hitched. I thought for sure that after I got married, after I had a man who loved me no matter what my weight was, that all the weight insecurities would cease. Wrong. They were still there and started to surface more. a couple months after I got married, I had enough. I was done being fat. I couldn't stand it anymore. We lived in an apartment complex that had a small fitness center, 2 treadmills, an elliptical, a bike, a Bowflex, and a tiny 20 inch tube TV mounted to the wall. It didnt matter that it wasn't fancy, I was in there at least 5 days a week.

I decided not to weigh myself for at least a month. We didn't even own a scale! Finally a month had passed. I nervously stepped on my new shiny scale...down 21 pounds! I could not believe it. I had never been anywhere close to successful at losing weight before. That was it. I was hooked. Cardio and Pilates became the norm. I went from 208 lbs and a size 16/18 to 154 lbs and a size 10(remember, I am 5ft 10in). I really wanted to get under 150, but at 154 my hip and collar bones were poking out, so I didn't want to start looking TOO skinny, ya know? I was in love with my life. I was finally who I wanted to be, and I loved it. I even went to my 5 year high school reunion and felt amazing.

Before and After for your viewing pleasure:
UNDONE: weight loss before and after

UNDONE: weight loss before and after
Fast Forward to April 2011. I had my first baby. Shit. Pardon my french, but there is nothing that wrecks your body quite like shooting a human out of it. I was not prepared for it. I was immediately depressed. I could not believe I was fat again!! How could I let this happen?! Due to an injury from a car accident I wasn't able to work out past 20 weeks, so I gained a ridiculous 80 lbs. Fast Forward to November 2011, I had lost only about 30 pounds of the baby weight, pathetic. I got pregnant, AGAIN. I gained back those 30 pounds and a few more. Ridiculous.

Present day. I have lost all my baby weight from pregnancy #2 and am now working on the 50 lbs left from baby #1. I have never disclosed the actual numbers like this, because it's disgusting to me, but you've gotta hold yourself accountable for what you have done, if you are going to change it.

Through my journey I will be updating you here and there on how its going, I am sure. But mostly I want to do this, on this platform, to hold myself publicly accountable.

Its my life.
Its now, or never.

Not So Stainless Steel {Frequent Frustrations}

I love, love, LOVE the look of stainless steel appliances, but I'm convinced that whoever came up with the idea didn't live with children or pets - or a man.  Anyone who has stainless steel knows what I'm talking about right now.

UNDONE: Super easy way to clean stainless steel

Between the three categories of monsters listed above, my stainless becomes a lot more stained than less.  Of course white and black appliances get dirty too, but the kicker with the stainless steel is that its not so easy to clean up. You can't just wipe off the one little water spot, you've got to clean the whole thing or you get weird marks, and I've found with the stainless steel cleaners I've bought that it takes a little bit of time and elbow grease to get a streak free look. Well, stainless steel owners, get ready, because nasty finger prints on my fridge are no longer a frequent frustration for me, and I'm not paying out the wazoo for expensive stainless steel cleaners either. A few months ago I discovered a tip that has changed my life - not an exaggeration... stainless steel can be cleaned with WINDEX. When I found this out I had a "why didn't I think of that before" moment, because duh, it makes sense - the main function of Windex is streak free glass cleaning. This is so fast and easy and works better than any stainless steel cleaner I've ever bought. All I do is spray about the same amount of Windex I use to clean a window, and then wipe with the grain of the steel with a paper towel. It would probably be even better if I used some kind of lint free cloth, but I'm lazy, so yeah.

A few minutes later, here are all of my pretty appliances.
UNDONE: Super easy way to clean stainless steel
The fridge is actually "Clean Steel" so it doesn't show fingerprints as much and is easier to clean, so while it actually gets the dirtiest it was less of a problem than the dishwasher, which was my former nemesis. This is where I really love the Windex trick. It has saved me SO much time with this appliance.
UNDONE: Super easy way to clean stainless steel
This stove is only a couple of months old, and I'm pretty sure these stainless steel knobs would have been the death of me if I wouldn't have learned this easy way to clean them.

UNDONE: Super easy way to clean stainless steel
The microwave is by far the trickiest to clean. It needs to be cleaned with the grain of the steel so it takes several little wipes to get the left edge clean and even using Windex it is still a little tricky to get a uniform shine. But Windex has made cleaning the front of the microwave a million times easier, because I don't have to clean the glass and the steel separately and worry about over spray marking up the area I just cleaned.

So there you have it. I don't get quiet as upset when there's dog slobber all across the dishwasher less than a minute after its been cleaned, because it seriously only takes about 20 seconds to clean it right back up! I'm still not happy about it, but I don't have a cosmic meltdown anymore.  How do you guys clean your appliances?

Spouse Wars{Frequent Frustrations}

My Frustration for this post is one that will be long lasting. What do I mean by that? Allow me to explain, with a picture:

{The Undone Blog} Frequent Frustrations - Messy Men

This is our "playroom." On Saturday my hubby ate lunch down here, and used a TV tray. The TV tray is dusty because it belongs in the garage. I asked him if he could put it away, and he gave me a few reasons why he wants it to stay right there. To which I replied with the reasons I want it to go, and at the end of the conversation, it appeared as though I had won.

But here we are. 4 days later. Its still there.

Now I don't consider myself a nag, more of a reminder. Jason always says though that the problem is I just dont give him enough time in between "reminders" to do whatever it is I asked.

So here we go. Start the timer. How long do you suppose it will take my hubby to put this darn TV tray in the garage where it goes?

(This experiment will only work if he doesn't read this post, so cross your fingers!)

Sunday Mornings {Daily Diaries}

Sunday mornings are the best, because that's when new episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers are on Disney XD. We, I mean, the kids love these shows. Ok, so I might be using my kids to make it acceptable to watch awesome super hero cartoons, but have you seen a Marvel Mash-up? They're hilarious! Darren and I may or may not have also watched several episodes of the 90's Spider-Man cartoon by ourselves on Netflix.... What can I say? We like super heros in this house! But its ok for grown ups to watch cartoons, because look at how cute these guys are.

Bedtime Meltdowns {Frequent Frustrations}

In my household a current frequent (and when I say frequent I mean twice a day) frustration is how my two year old would say it "night night time" which is both nap time and bedtime. This is a frustration for me and him. He has total anxiety about going to bed, but once he is in bed he is just fine doesn't get out and goes right to sleep all the melt down is right before. Take for instance nap time, as soon as I wash his hand after lunch he starts winning "no change a diaper" because he knows the routine of lunch, change his diaper and then nap time. Then as soon as I am done changing his diaper he says over and over "no night night, no night night." nap isn't the worst though the worst is night time. We have a night owl on our hands. Again as soon as he sees his jammies he freaks out starts crying, so we calm him down call them comfies instead and finally get him all changed.

UNDONE: Bedtime Frustrations

Then this is a regular occurrence we have to calm him down after changing him by letting him either watch a little TV with us or let him play on daddy's Iphone, or as this picture shows tonight he wanted both.

UNDONE: Bedtime Frustrations

He is also very particular about how he sleeps and what he sleeps with, but who isn't right. He has to have his bed all set up and ready for him to get in it ahead of time with his Simba and baby
UNDONE: Bedtime Frustration

He has to have his fan on in his room for the white noise

UNDONE: Bedtime Frustrations

And his biggest musts are his "soft blankie" (which he is super attached too and even more so since Holden has been born) and his binkie (which is going to be the death of me trying to take this thing away from him)

UNDONE: Bedtime Frustrations

Once all the bedtime routine is completed and time to finally go to bed this is what happens even after all the calming down and soothing. Tears and Screams "NO NIGHT NIGHT" over and over again all the way into his room

UNDONE: Bedtime Frustrations

We get to his room give him his nightly kisses and loves "We love your ears, we love you nose, we love your eyes, we love your toes" as he repeats" no night night" through the whole thing we lay him down leave the room and he goes to sleep. All that anxiety for nothing. I do not understand. I know he is two but it is so frustrating. His anxiety gives me anxiety. Problem is he is just like me. I get so anxious about everything. Good thing I am totally in love with this boy, I could just do without all the nightly screams. Anyone else have a child hate bedtime this much, but then sleep so good once they are in bed?
